This website is about a life being lived in the pursuit of awe.

I am capturing it on photographic film,

on digital and in writing.

It happens to be my life but you could easily create a website and make it about yours.

I have aims in my life and the main one is to live in awe. To wonder and question and seek out the things and the people and the places that make us go ‘wow’!

I’m lucky, I am married to a woman who lives her life in a similar way; she also makes me go ‘wow’ every day.

I have an intelligent, caring and funny son; he made me go ‘wow’ the day he was born and continues to do so.

Who am I?

I was born in Scotland on the banks of the River Clyde in 1964.

In 1972 we moved to Yorkshire, England and lived in a mining village.

At 16 I left home to travel the world in the Merchant Navy and so it was I bought my first SLR camera

at the age of sixteen and a half.

Since then, I have lived in far too many places to recall or recount, including 11 years in the USA.

I returned to the UK in 2015 with my wife and son and a new life began again.

The camera, as it did in 1981 became a part of that new beginning.

By the way, that’s my Mamiya C3 below. It’s not a posh or expensive camera (despite how it appears)

but every time I look at it and every time, I use it

I am completely in awe of its

beauty and its ‘feel’.

Enjoy!
